Lesson Agreement

  • Tuition is a flat monthly fee based on a 48 week year. Individual lessons have no exact value. Tuition is due by the 1st of the month. Services may be refused if payment has not been made on time. All transactions and checks that are made out to Highwood School of Music that do not clear will have a processing fee which must be paid in full before lessons can continue. If a new student begins mid-month the fee will be prorated according to the number of weeks for that month.

  • If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason it must be done as soon as there is a known conflict. All make-up lessons are determined between the teacher and the student if the teacher is able. There are no refunds for cancelled lessons.

  • If a teacher has to cancel a lesson for any reason the student will be notified as soon as the conflict is known. A make-up will be scheduled or a credit for that lesson will be given on the next month's fee. Only in situations where neither of the two is possible, will the teacher grant a refund.

  • If there is an uncontrollable and unforeseen event that prevents any lesson(s) from taking place, Highwood School of Music will contact the student immediately to inform you of any lesson(s) that will not be held. A make-up will be scheduled if possible or you will receive a credit on the next month's fee. Refunds are not given for unforeseen events. Examples of such events would be inclement weather, power outages or local/national emergencies all cancellations for acts of nature are determined solely by Highwood School of Music.

  • The only instance in which refunds will be granted will be if the teacher cancels a lesson and a make-up lesson or credit on the next month's fee cannot be provided. Though individual lessons hold no exact value, the refund value for one half hour lesson will be prorated according to the number of weeks for that month.

  • There is a required minimum of (1) months' notice of intent to withdraw. If a student withdraws from lessons with less than one (1) months' notice this may result in a charge for all or part of the next month's fee.

  • For the following four weeks there are no lessons. No make-ups are scheduled for these days since Highwood School of Music is based on a 48 week calendar
